Barbados withdraws participation from Miss Universe 2021

Joining the withdrawing countries this year, Miss Universe Barbados organization, a few hours ago, released an official statement on its social media to announce that the national edition for the year 2021 will not be held due to the worsened state of affairs in respect of the COVID-19 pandemic in Barbados, compounded by the restrictions on the holding of events.

For the time being, the reigning queen Hillary Ann-Williams will continue her reign as Miss Universe Barbados 2020 Hillary is 25-years-old entrepreneur who owns her own Digital Marketing agency. She rose to national prominence as a delegate in Miss Universe Barbados 2019, where she initially emerged as a finalist and People’s Choice winner. Subsequently, after the reigning Miss Universe Barbados 2019, Shanel Ifill, received a lucrative modelling contract and had to step away from her title, Hillary was elevated to complete the last 7 months of Shanel’s reign and now has been the reigning queen for over a year.
