The Miss Earth organization announces the pre-pageant and final coronation schedule for Fall 2021 as the USA aims for a back-to-back international win. 27-year-old Marisa Paige Butler of Maine will represent the USA during competitions beginning in October, culminating with the Miss Earth final coronation on November 21. Recognized as the most relevant pageant in the industry, the Miss Earth organization was founded in 2001 in the Philippines.
Crowned in January 2021 at the national pageant in Orlando, Butler has spent the last several months volunteering in her community, modeling including an appearance at New York Fashion Week, photographing for magazine covers and features, and conducting media interviews. Last year, Butler was a Panelist for Climate Reality’s Annual 24 Hours of Reality event and she became a certified Leave No Trace Trainer. She recently started a community clean up organization called ‘We Clean Trails’ inviting groups and individuals to clean up trails every weekend.
The Miss Earth pageant seeks to impact the health of the planet and showcase environmental needs and eco-tourism opportunities around the globe. In November 2020, the USA captured its first ever Miss Earth crown during the 20th anniversary celebration, awarding the title to Lindsey Coffey of Pennsylvania. Since her international win, Coffey has formed a partnership with the World Wildlife Fund, Greenpeace International and traveled to Guatemala, Belgium and Greece to contribute to environmental causes.
