Sasha Perea was crowned Miss District of Columbia USA at the end of the ceremony held on 17th July 2021 at the Carpenter Theater in Richmond, Virginia. Sasha succeeded Miss District of Columbia USA 2020 Cierra Jackson for the title and will represent the District of Columbia at the upcoming edition of Miss USA pageant in November in Tulsa.
The 28-year-old beauty queen attended York College of Pennsylvania in York, Pennsylvania, USA, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communication and media studies. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she studied communication studies with a concentration in media and technological production, communication, journalism, and related programs. She is a model, television/red carpet host, author, tech co-founder, and beauty queen.
She started working as an independent model in 2013. She enjoys the high energy that the industry provides and the ability to express herself through the creative visions of photographers, designers, artists, and makeup artists.
The diva became Foobee‘s vice president of communications and media relations in 2017. She has successfully combined her love of the media, fashion, entertainment, and entrepreneurship with her talent for reporting, producing, and content creation. Sasha’s mission is to continue to change the perception of what a modern-day woman is, by showing that women can be multidimensional and create their narrative. Sasha is a budding bilingual reporter and television host. She has had the opportunity to work as a sideline reporter for NBA and NCAA collegiate games, and she’s had the opportunity to speak on personal topics surrounding the Afro-Latina/o community.
Sasha is also an author and was inspired to write ‘Model Mindset’ after receiving questions from aspiring models as to how they too can get started in the modeling industry. She quickly realized there wasn’t a step-by-step guide for aspiring models and decided to create a Model Mindset to help aspiring models navigate the industry. The interactive book is filled with personal stories, worksheets, and more.
Sasha is not a newbie to the pageantry. Sasha was adjudged as the second runner-up at Miss World America 2016, where she represented Virginia, USA. She competed in Miss District of Columbia USA 2019 and finished in the Top 12. She was adjudged as the fourth runner-up at Miss District of Columbia USA 2020.
Miss District of Columbia USA 2021 Sasha Perea’s court includes Kennedy Taylor as first runner-up, Hannah Menzner as second runner-up, Jasmine Marani as third runner-up and Alexis Becton as fourth runner-up.
Miss Teen District of Columbia USA 2021 was also held on the same night as Hannah Gilliard was crowned by Miss Teen DC USA 2020 Sydney Jackson. She will now represent the District of Columbia at Miss Teen USA 2021. Montanna Norman was adjudged as the first runner-up at the end of the event finale.
