The costume does not represent the country and it is a mere disguise.
A few weeks before it is known who will be crowned Miss Universe 2020, little by little details of the candidates are revealed. And something that always draws attention is the typical costume.
One of those that is generating controversy is that of the Israeli candidate, Tehila Levy, who will wear a dress made with 300 masks, which are used as a protection measure against COVID-19.
“This is Israel’s national dress that beauty queen Tehila Levy will wear to represent us at the Miss Universe pageant! The dress was designed by Shai Shalom from more than three hundred (read them correctly, 300 !!) hand-painted masks. So what do you think of the dress? ”, said Miss Israel on it Instagram page.
Immediately the comments invaded social networks, many negatively criticizing the design, pointing out that more than a representative dress of the country it is a costume.
