Philippines wins Miss Intercontinental 2021

Cinderella Faye Obeñita from Philippines was crowned as the 49th Miss Intercontinental at the end of the pageant, held on October 29, 2021 at Hotel  Sunrise Diamond Beach resort, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. She succeeds Miss Intercontinental 2019 Fanni Miko of Hungary for the title. Obeñita is the second Filipina to win the crown, after Karen Gallman in 2018. Obeñita competed against 70 other beautiful candidates.

The 25 year-old Cinderella, also popularly known as, Cindy, graduated Magna cum Laude from the Liceo de Cagayan University with a degree in Mass Communication. She was a student-journalist for 10 years where she honed her writing skills in news, sports, technical and feature articles.

For the question-and-answer portion, the beauty queen was asked whether speaking English is an important factor in being an international ambassador as Miss Intercontinental.

As an ambassador, I don’t think that speaking a specific language is very important here in Miss Intercontinental or any pageant at all, as long as that woman is a woman of power and grace, commitment and intelligence no matter what language she speaks. And that woman is actually a woman of style and substance that she can win any pageant or any endeavor that she is into,” Obeñita expressed.

She continued, “I have learned here actually in Miss Intercontinental that a woman should possess a power of substance and I believe I am that woman.

We are living in a world that is very hard to survive and as Miss Intercontinental, I would like to be that source of hope, that source of inspiration on the true power of beauty that is felt iin the kindness of our hearts and definitely the sincerity of our loving actions.
