According Rafa of Critical Beauty, the contestants who competed at the recently concluded Miss Eco International pageant are stranded in Egypt because they tested positive for Covid-19. Apparently, the pageant owner herself Dr. Amaal Rezk is also positive but didn’t tell anyone about it.
Now these contestants are crying foul because they feel that the organization has abandoned them, and that they have to stay in Egypt until they’re negative so they can go home. Waiting, they must pay for their own accommodations.
On the live stream of the pageant, many experts did notice that not too many people in the audience were wearing mask or respecting social distancing. This is so revolting and irresponsible of the organization not to follow safety guidelines and be transparent about the situation.
We would like to hear from Miss Eco International Organization for clarification about this !
During the day, the Miss Eco International Organization headed by Dr. Amaal Rezk, who herself has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, stated that they “will ensure the safety of all our candidates.”
“All accusations made publicly against us may have been taken out of proportion. We are trying our best to coordinate with everyone. Including the ladies who are still here in Egypt.
“And we have fulfilled our duties as we promised and we’re taking good care of all our infected queens.
“We thank all our national directors and candidates for their support and understanding.”
Some directors have shared with us their skepticism about these comments and have preferred to appeal to their embassy to take care of their beauty queen like the Japanese director.
